Lawrence A. Saunders is a father, teacher, chaplain and the Pastor of Word for Life Christian, a work he founded in 2002, in Brooklyn New York, where he was born and raised. In 1982 Pastor Lawrence received Christ into his life and has been serving Him ever since. This servant of God is no stranger to ministry as he has worked his way through the ranks in various areas serving as an Usher, Small Group Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Worship Leader, Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor to name a few. In 1985 he accepted the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is an assignment he carries out faithfully and loves doing so as well. In Order to become better equipped for this mighty task, Pastor Lawrence enrolled in Bible School, Bible College and finally seminary, where he graduated with honors and received a Master’s Degree in Theology. He also excelled on the secular level, where he graduated with the honor of Summa cum laude while obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. Pastor Lawrence served as Dean of Academic Affairs at Bethel Bible Institute, in Jamaica Queens New York for 5 years.
While he has been blessed with the gift of educating people spiritually, Pastor Lawrence also has sound expertise educating people secularly, as he worked for several years as a Lecturer of Speech at Medgar Evers College, City University of New York. By operating in this capacity, he has incorporated his teaching of public speaking into his own unique style whenever he shares the Word of God, which has been and continues to be a blessing to the body of Christ. He has a deep passion and love for “teaching for reaching”, with the purpose of helping others to grow stronger in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus. Pastor Lawrence lives in Long Island New York with his son beloved son. He enjoys fishing, traveling, reading, collecting coins and running 10 miles a day. Currently, he serves as a chaplain for the state of New York, where he has led and continues to lead many souls to Christ. Pastor Lawrence’s favorite prayer and desire is that “He wants more from God, so that He can do more for God”; as he has fully dedicated his life to the service of the Lord.
